pole with handle and camera

The pole for your camera is getting better and better with the Quik Pod DSLR/POV Ultra and Quik Pod Explorer 3. These are easy ways to get a self portrait and a better perspective of your action. Though this type of camera support has been around for some time now, but not all are waterproof, and seeing the updated versions is pretty cool. Take the DSLR/POV Ultra, which can hold a 4.4lb. camera, much more than a handful of GoPro HEROs, yet it weighs 9oz. The rubber grip, and hard anodized aluminum help you provide the bulk of the stability, while remaining waterproof. If you want plent of the background to be the focus you might use the entire 53-inches on the DLSR/POV Ultra. As a smaller relative, the Explorer 3 starts at 9-inches and extends to 39-inches and still includes adapters for GoPro cameras and a 1/4-inch-20 quick release adapter. It's fully equipped to ride with you wherever you take the action since it is fully salt waterproof, has a mirror, versatile smartphone adapter, carrying bag, carabiner, and waterproof lanyard make it one thoughtful product. Now it's up to you to make sure you, the GoPro housing, and the rest of your gear are waterproof since Quik Pod takes care of a lot of business.

The main differences between Quik Pod's DSLR/POV Ultra at $70 and the Explorer 3 at $60 are the aluminum and steel/chrome materials (respective), and of course, physical length. If you hadn't thought beyond taking a self portrait, or even using a camera other than a GoPro, consider turning it into an all weather monopod for another sort of support.
