The Edelkrone Flex-Tilt Head

Edelkrone has released yet another small filmmaking tool to help compact shooters add production value without getting a hernia. The Edelkrone Flex-Tilt Head is a lifting, flexing and tilting head for cameras 5.5 lbs or less.

Clocking in at less than a pound and measuring less than four inches square and about an inch tall, the Flex-Tilt Head is perfect for combining with small sliders, lightweight tripod legs and even monopods.

For mounting, the Flex-Tilt Head has a 1/4"-20 threaded mount on top and 3/8"-16 on bottom, for easy mounting to pretty much any camera/tripod combination. The cool thing about the Flex-Tilt Head is that even if it's not mounted to a tripod it can stand on it's own for ground-up shots or for peeking over ledges and counters.

Beyond the tilt and lift functions, the Flex-Tilt Head is able to flip a mounted camera 90-degrees for portrait shooting, and — if the intro video is to be believed — has a small enough footprint to allow for battery changes on cameras like the 5D Mark III while still mounted.

As always, the Edelkrone equipment looks nicely made from CNC machined aluminum, with high-quality delrin thermoplastic components and stainless screws.
